Diagnostic Value of Serum sCD40L, CCL3, and NT-ProBNP Levels in Detection of Lower Limb Venous Thrombosis among Elderly Patients with Heart Failure.

Serum sCD40L, CCL3, and NT-proBNP levels were significantly higher in elderly heart failure patients with lower limb venous thrombosis compared to those without thrombosis.

• 200 patients with HF were retrospectively included and equally divided into thrombus (n=100) and non-thrombus (n=100) groups based on lower limb vein ultrasound findings.
• Differences in serum levels between groups were statistically significant (p < 0.05) for all three markers.
• Group assignment was determined by lower limb vein ultrasound findings.

Elevated serum sCD40L, CCL3, and NT-proBNP levels were independently identified as risk factors for lower limb venous thrombosis in heart failure patients.

• Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to assess the independent association of each marker with LLVT.
• All three markers reached statistical significance (p < 0.05) as risk factors for LLVT in this analysis.
• The analysis controlled for potential confounders by using a multivariate approach.

The combined AUC of serum sCD40L, CCL3, and NT-proBNP for detecting LLVT was greater than the AUC of each individual marker.

• ROC curve analysis was used to evaluate diagnostic performance of individual and combined markers.
• The combined marker AUC was significantly greater than sCD40L alone (Z = 3.337, p < 0.001), CCL3 alone (Z = 2.303, p < 0.001), and NT-proBNP alone (Z = 5.156, p = 0.021).
